No. No benefit at all. Forget it.

The Plat charge card does wash its face if you travel a lot. You can give supplementary cards to 5 people - ALL of them get full travel insurance for themselves and their immediate dependents. (And no need to book anything with the card to qualify).

It also comes with FULL car hire cover. No more CDW etc to pay. We had a car for a week in Ireland last week and paid £105 because all the insurance was stripped out.

2 Priority Pass cards for airport lounge access
BMI and EUrostar lounge access when travelling in Y on those carriers
Decent discounts on luxury hotels through the 'Fine Hotels & Resorts' scheme
Starwood Gold (permanent)
Hilton Gold (one year only)

and other bits and bobs

However, I admit that the Plat charge card will lose its lustre a bit for me if they start charging for my BA Amex (a free BA Amex was one of the other good perks)

If you only want an Amex card to cover all the bases (MC, Visa, Amex) then get the BMI Amex with the whopping 20,000 or 24,000 BMI miles free when you apply.
