Hello cracla, what routing are you considering? UK to where?
If it's a kangaroo route I'd say have a serious look at EY and use the limo service at each end. It might be worth routing through Singapore, perhaps a stopover, the on to Brisbane.

Have a read of some of the trip reports in each of the ME airlines.
Etihad prides itself in having a dedicated food & beverage manager and great catering.

If we know your routes it will help with an answer but all of the airlines are raising prices - value might be relative but for long hauls EY has capacity and is surprisingly good.

I can tell you that on a recent trip, we had better service and a better 'hard product' on EY in Y than the return flight BA in J. Unbelievable.
BA J did not compare well to EY Y.
