maldives is definitely good - one and only reethi rah and four seasons landaa giraavaru are the best regarded in the luxury hotels forum.

the values in the maldives really cant be beaten.

considering you said secluded, i believe the higher end maldives resorts are considerably moreso than the higher end bora bora / etc resorts, as well as a much better value.

amanpulo would be another good option, an amanresort on a private island in the phillipines. they offer an all-inclusive package "romance at amanpulo", but their beach casitas do not have pools.

amex can get you quite a lot of international F. for example AF/KL offers MH awards. (LAX-KUL-MLE) IIRC CO can only get F on QF.
