I'm planning on going to HKG from either DFW or IAH on UA on the 31st for about a week. Right now I can only book V class out of DFW. Can anyone share their experiences?

One more thing: what would happen to my miles if I were, God forbid, delayed on my outbound for the 31st? Would I still make my lowly 2P status if I had to count on those miles?
