I absolutely wouldn't. When KL had stopped serving free alcohol in eco, I switched to AZ for most of my non-AF flights. And any hope that if they stopped serving free wine/beer, their fares would go down by £1 or 2 by flight would, in my view, be the equivalent of believing in pink elephants. Since you mention US airlines, you can't ignore that despite varying a lot in the service they provide (some give food others don't, some charge for luggage - 1st or 2nd piece - others don't etc), they all keep offering absolutely the exact same ticket fares. So I strongly suggest we stick with all of the meager benefits we have as anything you are willing to surrender will undoubtedly be surrendered against nothing in return! (unless you are a benefit-related-pay top airline executive or a shareholder!)
