For First, you can totally bypass the airport by using the Jet Centre at BGI. Small but comfortable lounge, mix of snacks and they'll bring you sandwiches before your return flight. You go thru departure formalities in the jet centre, and are taken by mini-van right to the aircraft. It is the closest thing you can get flying BA to LH's FCT in FRA.
Thanks AndyFlyer. This sounds great - just wondered how you access the Jet Centre, can this be done via the terminal or are we talking about a completely different location.
Also wondered what the on-ground eating options are like given the quick flight time - is it worth eating proir to boarding or eat on board and have less sleep (i've got to go to work on return)
Finally - what are the F arrival facilities like at Gatwick. Is there a lounge / showers / breakfast etc....?
