UA's conditions of carriage (worth reading) do not require it to provide any compensation (beyond food, water, restrooms, and medical care) for mx delays unless the delay is more than four hours and involves a diversion and strands the passenger between 10 pm and 6 am! required compensation does not extend much beyond rescheduling requirements. to boot, the cause of delay must be within UA's control...
