in the grand scheme of things, no one with an interest in the Italian Market has an interest to see AZ sink. Whoever out there has decided that the Italian Market is lucrative enough wont be interested in seeing AZ drown, as recapturing the market, building brand recognition, loyalty, infrastructure etc etc is a difficult task, and may be more difficult and costly than some government engineered restructure, plus subsequent merger/sale of AZ. In other words, i am 99.5% sure there will be a rescue for the flying parts of AZ. I would not hesitate (for financial reasons) to book AZ. For the flying experience (which is only the shorthaul MadDogs that I experienced)...different story.
BTW, AFKL pulled out because of the political veto. I am sure that in the coming round, there will be a politically "blessed" plan on the table.
