You're telling me that I can show up in a foreign country, and they will give me a car and I can drive around? It depends on the country. But i drive in the UK, Australia and the US on my Canadian license regularly, Some jurisdictions require an international drivers license but this is normally just something you pay a fee for.
And I can tell you I have seen plenty Americans driving around Britain and Australia without knowing how a roundabout works :-)
