Hahahaha...

It was quite a sight. The ORD ground staff boarded the plane and asked each passenger (by Mr/Mrs <Last Name> ) to move to ##ABDEFHJ. Nobody's configuration was changed--i.e. you didn't go from a window to an "E", but they were simply moved to the rear C cabin. Those in 8 & 9 ABHJ weren't asked a thing.

New boarding passes were not printed, but I did notice the GA drawing arrows on the seating chart, indicating the passengers' new positions. Once they kicked everybody out, they put 1 sq ft felt covers on the seat tops that said "United Crew". They didn't get to indulge--it was entirely a rest area.

The passenger in 9H said to an older FA (surprise!), "You guys sure have a nice rest area." To which she replied, "Oh, yeah. We really need it on these long hauls." (Hmmm...what's her job again? Resting on 120' reclining chair or FA?

But the best part of this post:

The excuse for making the passengers move to the rear C cabin was _____??_____.
