My experience with cc coverage of the LDW is that you must use the card with the coverage to reserve AND pay for the entire rental - so for example if you had a reservation with one day free the card insurance will not cover the LDW. Also, keep in mind if you do not have your own auto insurance policy the credit card coverages do not include liability - only damage to the rental car.
