I agree that the CP at HC is the only one even worth considering anywhere close to downtown - but HC area is not a very smart area in general. There are some places in North County not far from Miramar that would be worth considering if you were primarily concerned with value for the points rather than downtown convenience.

As others have mentioned the Hyatts - yes, they are nice, but IMHO quite poor value for points stays, and you can easily run up a big bill for incidentals (eg parking).
