I have a little experience volunteering at a homeless shelter and we did see quite a few unused amenity kits. One word of advice though.. While I'm sure they would be GREATLY appreciated, you might want to make a quick call to your shelter of choice to make sure they can use them. Sometimes they'll get too much of one thing and not enough of another - and there's just limited room to store everything.
