Why I use WN now

I just moved to Phoenix, and am trying to stick with NW - not that easy out here! Anyway, after considering a switch to, or adding US as an airline of choice, I picked Southwest for much of my domestic flights. They have a lot of non stop flights from PHX, including to my former home @ CMH. Besides ongoing frustration with US that I have heard, now, with the a la cart philosophy, WN paradoxically has MORE service than them, and many other legacy airlines for non-elite flyers. I can get unlimited snacks and soft drinks and up to two bags with no charge on WN vs US and others, who now charge. I will still keep NW for international travel and as long as I am an elite and not subject to the nickel and dime charges. WN is not even cheaper anymore, but now offers service superior to others. So, I agree with the OP and others who have posted. A death spirial for US and probably other US legacy carriers.
