Ocassionally something like this will happen to me but it is because sometimes when I don't use a ticket my corporate travel agent keeps it active for some reason (Don't even get me started on them...). The ellapsed flights leave your PNR, so in order for it to remain "active" there must be a segment in there, hence something like this (sometimes it is from Chicago to Chicago at the same time but this one is interesting)
