So here's an interesting question that I guess could only be answered from experience.

I have a return flight on LH in September, one leg is W so 0.5x, and the other T class, so non-earning. But since the BD*S and BD*G mileage bonuses are calculated on base miles, will I still get the bonus for both flights?

These non-earning fares can really put a damper on things. Lucky I've got some UA flights later in the year.
