Looks like they're trying to get the best of both worlds (which is the worst of both worlds for passengers), WN's same day stand by policy combined with the legacy carriers' ridiculous change fees. While I'm a fan of WN in general, the stand by policy is my least favorite part of flying WN, but I can live with it because of the other advantages they offer, no change fees being at the very top of the list.
