I am surprised they took the pullman as their website says:

http://www.metmuseum.org/visit/general_information/
Please note that luggage—including carry-on bags and oversize backpacks—is not allowed into the Museum and cannot be checked in at the Museum's coat check facilities.

A couple of years ago a guard freaked out when he saw the Zabar's shopping bag in my messenger bag. When I showed him the 6 oz package of factory sealed cheese in it, he would not let me in the museum and said I could not store my bag with it at the coat check. In the end I had to throw it away and I was royally ticked off. (I have walked through better museums than the Met and there is always at least a bottle of water and granola bars in my messenger. Yet, somehow I have restrained myself from rubbing the food all over the art.) Anyway, I paid .25 to enter that day.
