Given the 5.498 billion EUR salary costs in 2007 a rise of salary by 3% (difference between LH offer and what verdi asks for) is ~165 mio EUR p.a.
(I know that this is just a really rough estimation.) In connection with the 5 mio EUR loss per day this is quite a lot of money. So LH and Verdi should settle their dispute rather soon or there won't be a winner. (There is no winner anyway IMHO

).
