If I were shopping for a electronic dictionary, I would check kakaku.com and try out the top ranked ones at a Yodobashi or other stores. It looks like the most popular models right now are Sharp and Casio.

It looks like many models have touch panel as standard. Check タッチパネル box in the search form and it'll return all models with handwriting recognition.
