oh definitely it's much cheaper on most trips to originate in AUS over DFW.

early on during AADER flew AUS-SEA-AUS for $141 a.i., booked before I knew of the bonus. skipped extrAA miles on this one going direct (instead of xDFW/xORD) to get a few hours in downtown Seattle ^^

also found that there's often little or no extra cost to detour thru LAX on way TATL.
