You should ask for compensation. But also see the other threads on the subject as of late. All flights ex and into Germany are having these issues in ANTICIPATION of the strike on Monday. Your flight was not alone, and that horrid level of service is not the norm. on UA. Service on UA can often be spotty, but that poor level was largely due to the catering issues. You should get a refund. Absolutely unacceptable.
