I am quite shocked reading the OP.

I just did a tanspac roundtrip in international F and got back last night, and I had some of best services on UA on this trip.

Outbound on LAX-HKG last Saturday and inbound on PEK-IAD yesterday. I also did PEK-IAD in F in April and June, and ORD-PVG in F in June. Serivces in the April flight was below average, and June flights were very good.

Here is a sample of services I received:

1. FA greeted me by my last name (outbound) as soon as I walked into the F cabin.

2. FA walked around the cabin refilling my glasses the entire flights.

3. Asked me about flexible dinning option.

4. Recommended movie selection from the titles in the movie tray to me

5. Although the quality of food is below standard, the meal services were excellent.

6. Personally thanking me for flying UA and sticking with UA,

7. At IAD, the FA thanked the passengers in the immigration area for flying UA.

I am surprised that the services could be this different on two different flights on the same day. I also flew CX in F on an intra-Asia route during this trip, and serices I received on UA were just as good as CX, although amenity and food were much better on CX.
