Have been a (largely single) Leisure Travel Platinum since the inception of the program. Some years maintaining Platinum status has been a bit challenging but in cases where my stay quota has been low, I rely on a hotel hop weekend (or two or three) in a city with multiple spg properties. These hotel hops are, I assume, far less of a production and inconvenience as a single traveller. Try to stay away from the double stay promos to achieve status because I want to be included in the annual targetted 1/2 points promotion. Find the biggest advantages of Platinum to be the dedicated reservation line with (largely) helpful and competent agents (stay away from the reps in Cork Ireland who answer the phones at night), the Corporate Service personnel who have been great during some particularly difficult stays (again stay away from Cork) the ability to extend check out, the upgrades and club lounge access.
