I've booked a very short o/w trip on AA, but due to some error my reservation has firs name and last name swapped.
The problem is that on the receipt page the full name appears but on the electronic ticket my last name has just the initial!

Let's say my name is John Fitzgerald Kennedy.
On the ticket receipt (due to swap) it just appears as K John Fitzgerald

The AA agent I spoke to said it won't be a problem, but I'm quite worried I can have some problems at check-in and security (I'm not an american citizen).

What's your suggestion?
Thank you in advance!

The two biggest issues that are most frequent in such situations is that the check-in rep has to manually find your record (so keep your record locator handy), your frequent flyer number won't necessarily take automatically such that the system recognizes your FF status and/or you get FF credit.

Other than that, nothing to worry about. Go to the airport on your day of travel, check-in and tell the agent to manually pull up the record using the record locator and you should be good to go. Or just do online and/or kiosk check-in. This type of situation is not a definite show stopper even for international travel; and the TSA usually doesn't make a stink about this even domestically in the US, and the usual worst case for such circumstances being they'll just send you for a more extensive screening and maybe ask some questions before letting you get on your way.

Don't worry about it now. Go to the airport, check-in like normal and enjoy your trip like everyone else who doesn't have the name issue.
