today 7/24:
goalie-sis: ua1130 yvr-ord (11:10am-5:10pm) & ua626 ord-dca (7:05pm-9:56pm)

being the good goalie brother that i am , i surprised goalie-sis with a 15k mileage u/g yvr-ord & w/l ord-dca

goalie-sis calls me post security while having a muffin to say thanks (major goalie points for me)

less than 10 minutes after hanging up with goalie-sis, easy update says 626 ord-dca is cancelled

i call reservations and get her re-booked on ua628 ord-dca @8:50pm with a confirmed seat (albeit e+ middle)

i call goalie-sis to tell her the "good news" and to find the nearest ua g/a to get her new bp and to see if she can be put on stdby on ua624 ord-dca @6:05pm.

goalie-sis calls me back & said the ua g/a at yvr was great as she not only gets her on stdby, but gets her an e+ aisle on 628 and re-tags her checked bag for 628 & stdby for 624 ^.

fast forward to 1:30pm pst.....

united cargo says goalie-sis' re-booked flight (628) is now scheduled for 9:10 but is also on decision

i call reservations and get a true angel ^^^ who not only confirms goalie-sis on 624 & 6:05pm (tho she can't get her a seat assignment) but also protected her on ua602 & 6:55am tomorrow morning, just in case she arrives late & can't make it to the gate for 624 in time and 628 does get cancelled (and to add, where i had u/g'd goalie-sis and the ord-dca leg was w/l, she confirmed the u/g on tomorrow's flight).

just 10 minutes ago, easy update says ua624 (a 747 ord-dca according to unitedcargo-yeah, right) is now leaving 20 minutes late at 6:25pm so hopefully that will work in favor of goalie-sis as for now, she arrives 10 minutes late at c31 and has to got to b18 <run fast goalie-sis, run fast>

cross your sticks that it works as otherwise goalie-sis might be spending the night at ord as i don't think the recent changes to s*ual/involuntary reroute-amenity are gonna work even if the fact that she is only in f on the inbound flight and not on the conx is overlooked (tho the one saving grace is that her re-bookings are in full-y, full-y & full f so something good will come out of this)

and if can add some humor, goalie-sis was doing work on an island off yvr and took a seaplane back where she got to ride shotgun! (made my jealous morning but of course this was before all the "fun started")
