BA also get it badly wrong at times. My wife and I have been put up in a dossers hostel in Nairobi by BA following a flight delay. We tried to call BA but they hust hung up when I did manage to get through so we got a cab back to the airport as we decided we'd rather be there than stay at the so called hotel.

I think it is dangerous to judge any airline by just one incident, even AF.
