In my experience both the printed schedule (pdf) and the great circle mapper are off a little. If you want the exact number, go to aa.com and put in the route to get a fare and you'll see the mileage on the far right column. As long as the flight is on AA metal the mileage shown will exactly match what you get on your statement later.
