Agreed. When connecting In ATL, both the arrival and departure gates have always changed from when I did OLCI. Heck, one time the pilot came on for his pre-arrival speech, said we'd be pulling into gate whatever in about 12 minutes, and we ended up at a different gate. Never got any type of notification.

If they tried to notify everyone of gate changes it may bring the IT system to its knees.....
