Flight Review - AC512 ORD-YYZ on 07/22

So it all began yesterday at ORD (where it always begins!) The prior YYZ-ORD flight was cancelled due to weather so the plane was a little more packed than normal, took my seat 1A, and waited for take off.

Just after take of the plane violently rolled left, then right. The plane then climbed steeply and appeared to circle back around like it was headed back to ORD.

A few minutes later the pilot came on and announced that we'd been caught in the "wake" of a 747 in front of us (we were a little E175). He'd mentioned that the tower had oked the distance between our planes (clearly not enough!) and he apologised

The flight was fairly uneventful, but on our approach into TO I got to fly through the lightning storm. I'd honestly never seen so much lighting up close and personal before.

Once landed we spent about 45 min on the tarmac as the red alert was on and ground crews weren't cleared to come on to the tarmac (makes ya wonder if we were in any danger being on the tarmac).

Finally got to gate (161?), sprinted through Nexus and battled my way home.

all in all the flight was a horrible experience - though for once I can't blame AC at all. SD was courteous (not too bad to look at either ;-) and AC seemed to handle their responsibilities well.
