Cathay First Class... what more can you ask for?

Just came off a fourteen hour LAX-HKG flight. My first in CX F (actually I lie, it's my second as I did JFK-YVR recently and they had the suites - but it was a shorter flight and I was so exhausted that I didn't eat a thing and fell asleep straight away only to be woken up on landing!)

I know it is frequently mentioned on this board as being a top notch service, but I'd like to add my voice to those hoping that the new BA F will be something like what CX offers.

Why?

Superbly courteous and welcoming check-in from highly motivated CX staff at LAX (rare at outstations of any airline, perhaps apart from T7 BA premium team who are usually lovely :-))

Brilliantly organised boarding process at LAX handled at the gate by the aforementioned check-in team.

Fabulously warm and helpful FAs to take you to your seat.

Superb cabin. Perfect privacy and openness balance struck. Perfect lighting. Astonishingly bug-free and fast, and comprehensive IFE system with great headphones.

The suite is heaven. Wide and long and in bed mode, with the mattresses etc in place it's almost as good as being in a hotel bed. Wash rooms are perfect; huge and flooded with natural light.

Krug served . Caviar service. Stellar wine list. Very impressive cheese board presented (as a board...^). Impressive snacks available during the flight cooked to order and genuinely tempting.

Priority luggage off first and in a car to the Peninsula where I am writing from now within 20 minutes of landing!

Come on BA... you know you can do even better...

I'm back to good old BA F from NRT back home next week. Hope it doesn't feel too lacklustre in comparison!

HL
