Look closely on the "On command" remote. They have a button labeled "screen" or "aspect", cannot remember which. Anyway, pressing it cycles through the different aspect ratios of the screen... so you can disable the stretch. YMMV.

I hate that I have a big 32" TV in my rooms, but no HD content. I do remember getting HD at the JW in DC. That was nice.
