It really depends on what sort of clubs and music you like. G.A.Y tends to be mainly full of young gay men and their straight girl friends dancing to very camp poppy dance music. If that's your thing then fine but if you like your music a bit heavier and your men a bit older, I would try somewhere else.

A must see though is the iconic Dame Edna Experience at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern (RVT) on sunday afternoon. This is a small but very busy pub/club located next to Vauxhall station in south London. Arrive by 4pm to get a wristband to be sure of admission. You can come and go as often as you like for the evening then. We usually go for dinner at Pico's restaurant for dinner (under the railway bridge, turn right and walk about 200 yards). The show starts about 5.30pm but it's a clubbing atmosphere before and after until the early hours of Monday. Dame Edna (not the real thing of course) is one of the best Drag acts in the UK and is well known for her sharp wit and acidic tongue. There are various clips of her show on youtube all taken by drunk people with mobile phones.... here's one to start you off! http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=684FqGEf7i8
