Would an Amex IDC Platinum establish credit . . .

for me in the UK? Possibly even for the EU??

They want the IBAN (International Bank Account Number) number for my bank. I know how to get the ABA (American Banking Association?) number off my check. It's the nine digit number at the lower left of my checks. Would that be the same as the IBAN number?
