Really? If you read a bit more about TG then you'll see that their top tiers are almost always upgraded for free even when there is plenty of space in their assigned cabin.
Point conceded, but there is still a difference between a top tier customer getting courtesy upgrades and someone showing up having paid no fare getting access to the same thing.

I beg to differ! As I have posted in UA forum, I have PAID F flights planned on TG (also have flown PAID F flights as can be viewed in Trip Reports) and from what I understand, so does Ozstamps.
I still maintain that people who "get away with it once" are liable to try it again. In this case it's getting a fare error and then coercing (perhaps that is too strong a word) the airline to honour it.

I have see the same thing with students cheating and plagiarising. It pisses me off to see that because it's just not fair.

Now given that you have flown paid full-fare F on TG (this must have cost thousands of $), how would you feel if the rest of the F cabin had been filled with people chirping about how they had gotten their F tix basically for free (as opposed to having the F cabin partially empty)? Wouldn't you feel like you got ripped off?

Ok, maybe I was incorrect in mentioning a butcher since Down Under butchers sell sausages that are pre-made by various manufacturers (apart from their own ones, of course). But if I had a pile of bratwurst or knackwurst which was about to go off then I'd rather give it away for free than simply dump it in a garbage bin and then pay for it to be taken away by the garbage collectors.
But knowing that you couldn't sell so much, would you have bough so many pre-made sausages from the manufacturers in the first place? You likely wouldn't, hence my point that you the butcher has an easier time reducing excess supply than does the airline in reducing excess capacity when the demand is not there.

If you did, in the end, have lots of leftover sausages, I think you could donate them to a homeless shelter or something similar?

Since planes will have to fly regardless how many pax they have on board then it might be a good idea to try to accommodate those few who believe that they can affor to fly in F-class.
So accomodate those who pay $0? I'm not sure what you're saying here.

BTW, it is nice to see that you have posted a comment to my posting since you chose to ignore my personal e-mail to you a while back about an AA matter!
I did? Sorry about that. I assure you it was not intentional - I honestly might have missed it (read it, procrastinated at replying, then it slipped through the cracks).

FWIW, ...
However, when the tone you use is meant to somehow blame me or say that I am the cause of you leaving the AA forum, then your "FWIW" is worth nothing.

... your non-reply tipped me into leaving AA for UA which is a MUCH friendlier forum without flame-wars to the extent of AA forum.
Why should I give a hoot if you are going to be rude like this? I am honestly sorry that I did not reply to your e-mail, but I am not sorry if you wish to depart AA in such a non-friendly manner.

Who knows? Maybe we can co-exist in the same world?
For sure!
