But still confused about what my "upgrade" was. Looking back at my reservation, I'd booked a "Green" collection Ford Focus (group N from the above) - so not sure how I ended up being moved to a group C and then back to group N!
Group N was mainly brought in to make it more easier for fleet and staff at branches to easily define a diesel vehicle and certain corporate accounts wished to book diesel only as at the time it was the more economical fuel. As time progressed, Hertz diversified and tried to get more eco friendlel and introduced the 'green collection'. Group N helped as it was already set up and for utilisation purposes we could check by Group. When demand is low or these vehicles, they can be used across other groups such as the Group C, thus not having to purchase further stock of Group C.
