I just tried to prepay seats for flights I have booked to YVR in August, I know it's not a long flight but I though I would give it a try, but I was told I couldn't prepay for seats because I booked my flights using airmiles, so i guess I will wait and book them 24 hours in advance. Not sure I understand this policy. My sister and her family are flying YYC-YYZ this Saturday and she tried prepaying for her seats as well and was told row 16 was the closest to the front she could book. Considering this wasn't really big news and It was just announced last week I was surprised every other seat on the plane is already booked. I think Westjet is blocking the seats from row 16 to the front of the plane. I expect that if I am going to pay to select my seats I should get to pick from ALL available seats not just the last few rows.
