I just flew SAN/TYS/SAN via PIT last week on US. They did offer early boarding (you will need your UA card), and supposedly priority seating. Apparently they block the first few rows of Y for their elites which as a UA Premiers we can access for pre-assignment. You're correct however, that it is the same seat as all the others.
