I should have specified that the only casinos I've been to are in Las Vegas, so what I've seen is limited. I also suppose one factor is that casinos want players to be able to sit down and start playing in a timely manner, which prohibiting mid-deck entry at a multi-deck table prevents.

Of course placing blame is a natural reaction, but as I already stated, I've experienced gamblers getting irritated even when things DO go well. It's just that much of a offense to some players.
