Updated: Absolutely disgusted

Ok, I'm now in a position to give an update, and what looks like the end situation. It's not good and it's something which I am absolutely disgusted about.

Another member of this board put me in touch with somebody who works at Flying Blue. We conversed by email to try and sort this situation out. We recognised that there were 4 flights which were previously posted correctly, but for which both the level and reward miles were subsequently removed. The flights were:

24th Oct 2007
LAS-JFK on DL in economy

24th Oct 2007
JFK-BRU on DL in economy

29th Mar 2008
EZE-ATL on DL in business

30th Mar 2008
ATL-EWR on CO in first

After a few attempts my contact managed to get CO to find me on the ATL-EWR flight. Result: Miles re-credited to my Flying Blue account.

For the other 3 flights DL still refused to acknowledge that I had flown these flights, despite me having had my FB number in the system, and the miles correctly posting a few days after completing them. Result: As a gesture of goodwill (what a joke) I will receive the miles for the EZE-ATL flight in March this year. This may have something to do with me directing the contact at FB to the trip report I posted on FT for this very flight.

For the other 2 Delta flights which I took last October, I will not be having my miles re-credited! Absolutely astounding!

So, I am still missing miles from flights which I legitimately flew, due to circumstances, i.e. a computer error, completely beyond my control. I kept the boarding passes from these flights until long after I completed the itinerary, but I threw them away eventually as my flights had been correctly posted onto my account for 6 months. In fact, I was now into a completely new status year.

I complied with FB's rules and recommendations on making sure my Flying Blue number is in the system. I kept my boarding passes and ticket in case the miles did not post. But they did, and were on my account for a long time. I do not care one bit what has gone wrong with the system for them to believe I didn't take those flights. This has nothing to do with me. I have proven that the initial mistake on Continental's part was indeed just that, a mistake. So why am I not being given the benefit of the doubt with Delta for the LAS-JFK-BRU flights last October?

On top of this, what I am absolutely disgusted about is that not once have I received an apology. Nor did anybody send me an email or another form of communication to tell that over 25,000 reward miles had been removed from my Flying Blue account! They know my email address! It's in my account! Did it not cross anybody's mind that maybe I would like to have known this? Did it not cross anybody's mind to ask me if I actually flew these flights, and could I clarify? The only reason I noticed that the miles had been removed was because I keep a detailed account of all the flights I take and the miles I should have earned. I wonder how many other people have had miles from the last 9 months or more arbitratily removed from their account without them even noticing?

This is by far the worst treatment I have had from Flying Blue. And I'm a Platinum with 7 years seniority. Heaven forbid anyone who doesn't actually mean anything to Flying Blue.

So, the lesson to be learned from this. Keep your boarding passes. Forever!
