Follow-up question: the flight leaves at 06:30 am, when is the latest time to show up at OAK airport? Travelling with just hand luggage and doing web Check-In... Is 05:40 am still fine or too optimistic? How is security during this time of day?

Once again, thanks and have a nice Sunday!
I'd say there's another important difference. SFO is frequently fogged in, while OAK seems to be much more reliable. More than once, I've been cooling my heels in SEA waiting for the delays to SFO to clear and just hopped on the next OAK flight, which went out without any issues.

Taking a cab from OAK to San Francisco will cost a fortune. Bart is the way to go.

Regarding security, there is no priority line in OAK so even if you're MVPG, it won't help. The line seems to tick right along and 9 times out of 10, I'd say that 1 hour is sufficient but it'll be cutting it close if anything goes wrong.
