QF owes a lot to the very gentle nature of the weather in Oz. For example, QF has not suffered from "Controlled flight into terrain" that has caught many in other countries where low cloud and high mountains coincide (cumulo granite) - although it has caught a Viscount that broke up in a thunderstorm after departing from SYD about 40 (+) yrs ago.. Also, the relatively light density of aircraft to available space has also had advantages. Thirdly, for domestic operations, language is not usually an issue. Fourthly, the Asian culture of not questionning a senior officer is not prevalent here (hopefully) - and that minimises the documented problems that afflict some carriers - eg: SQ & KA.
