Advise needed
My mum and dad are now up to GE and had booked a flight to Vancouver - Canada some months ago and used miles to upgrade to BC.
The tickets have not been issued yet as the trip was planned for June.
Unfortunately my mum has been taken ill and is unlikely to be able to travel for around 6 months.
I spoke to my dad today and he told me that KLM Flying Dutchman would refund the miles as long as he got a form signed by the hospital.
However, the agent they booked the tickets with has said the class of ticket (which has not been issued yet ) is non refundable and he cant get his money back. They paid around £600 each for economy tickets which hardly sounds like a cheap ticket to me.
Any advise on how we might get this back for him.
I know he has insurance which will cover him, but I feel that the agent is Dial a Flight and they are taking the mickey knowing he has insurance and at the end of the day this kind of practise will only help to fuel insurance price increases.
