Interesting discussion. My brother, a Dutch citizen and US green card holder, changed his name when he got married. The Dutch government won't recognize this so his passport is still in his original name, but green card, credit cards, etc are in new name. He manages to fly, even internationally, but sometimes requires discussion at the airport. I can only imagine his discussions at immigration checkpoints!
