I just cancelled an F-class award trip on TG and NH (LAX-BKK-SIN-NRT-LAX) using MP miles. I didn't want to cancel, but the reasons for going were cancelled due to SARS. UA said that they waived the usual fee to put the miles back into my account. They will give me the taxes back as soon as I mail the tickets back or bring them to the airport.
