Returning Home To Canada (YYZ) On A Non-Canadian Passport

Dear all,

My apologies if this has been asked before, but a work colleague and I were discussing her upcoming trip to the UK, and she mentioned how she'll be travelling on her newly-acquired British passport, for the first time. She realized that entering the UK should be relatively easy, but wondered about the return trip, when she comes back to YYZ. She does hold dual citizenship (Canadian and British) and has both passports. Is there any concern, regarding re-entry into Canada and CBSA doubting her Canadian citizenship, and therefore, ability to return home? She realizes that she cannot leave Canada on one passport, and try to re-enter on the other, but should she bring the CDN passport, just in case? What should she say to the CBSA agent at passport control?

Many thanks for any wisdom you can provide.
