Another increase in fuel surcharges?
It seems today (yesterday?) there was another increase in international YQ surcharges. Pricing out ALB-IAD-MUC-IAD-ALB for early January on ITA, it now shows a total of $430.- for YQ roundtrip under the price breakdown (the actual S-fare is about $300 roundtrip, so the all-in total with taxes and fees now is over $800.)
Two weeks ago, the total YQ was $200.- ($100 each way) for the same itinerary, then last weekend I saw it had increased to $264 roundtrip , and now to $430.-, while the underlying S fare stayed pretty much the same all the time.
I also noticed (but that may have been the case for a while and I just didn't notice it) that last weekend when YQ for ALB-IAD-MUC-IAD-ALB was $264.-, it was still $200 for a IAD-MUC-IAD nonstop, so there now seems to be difference between nonstops and connecting flights.
Given that this surcharge seems to be changed so frequently, is there any website that is being updated regularly that lists the current fuel surcharge fee structure? Or is pricing out sample itineraries really the only way to keep track of this? Not too shockingly, a search for "fuel surcharge" on ual.com doesn't bring up anything really relevant to this question.
