Can UA ever escape the "friendly skies" slogan?
Today prior to landing, the Captain gave his final goodbye speech during descent and asked passengers to "choose the friendly skies" the next time their plans call for air travel.
I've heard this many times over the past few years, except "the friendly skies" has been dropped from all UA marketing for several years now.
It's a great slogan, but I know how marketers can get when they're trying to position new messages. And even though several messages have been deployed since the "friendly skies," it seems to be the one that sticks.
