I would not count on W inventory increasing just because you cancel a W seat. AFAIK the inventory available is influenced by the total sold seats not which bucket they were sold from. If you book and cancel right away, it probably goes back to the same inventory. If you book and cancel later on, the inventory is more likely to be determined by total sales at that point, rather than your one seat.
