The tickets were e-tickets and the refundability of them was a verbal assurance from the agent. This is pretty much common practice when you visit a travel agent & purchase e-tickets in Asia. You expect to pay more but get the flexibility.
It's a lesson I should have learnt years ago. Accepted developed world company business ethics are just not important to many businesses in India & Asia. They promise much & deliver little!. Thanks again. I'll continue persuing the Agent for my money. Jet has told me they don't have any further interest in my refund issue.
